When I was in high school (probably some time in 1998) a friend of my father’s lent him an ADAT machine to work on a recording project. I took the opportunity to record my first album of music. It was mixed at my friend Andrija’s house over the course of a few days when his parents were away. We drank Croatian grain alcohol, took baths in dirty underwear, and I got a mohawk.

This particular dirty underwear bath with the mohawk clippings gave me a terrible rash in my ass crack. The picture above is of that fateful bath. It made me think about mohawks and ass cracks being the exact inverse of each other… stinky yin/yang. So I called the album Butthawk.

The talking underneath all the music is a recording of my high school graduation brunch. I left off the first song from the album because it doesn’t quite fit with the rest.
