In 2007 I worked with my good friend James Caperton on Judy Is Rising, the first album by his group The Judy Experience, released on Cochon Records. Much of the audio had already been recorded years ago in his room with low fidelity equipment and he hired me to engineer and co-produce the finished product.

First I edited each track of every instrument to be more on beat. Then James and I spent lots of time in my room recording missing instrumental and vocal tracks, and recording two songs from scratch: “Cloak of the Priestess” and “Fall River.” Then I mixed the new and old audio, making the music larger and cleaner while trying to maintain the beautiful sound of James’ original lo-fi recordings.
